A true treasure
This is a 1922 Grande Champagne blended with 1924 to get the percentage to 40%. As all cognacs in Grosperrin's "Treasor" series it is very good. This cognac has a deep dark cognac, and it has a beautiful hang in the glass with distinct tears. At first it is a bit shy on the nose, you need to give...
A very good purchase
Jean Fillioux is one of my favorite producers, and No 1 is one of their best products. The bottle I use for this review was bottled in 2014, so I guess the current blend is somewhat younger. I also have an even older version on shelf. This cognac has a nice golden color and is rich on the nose. I...
Tough and tasteful

It is a Grande Champagne around 45 years old bottled at 47.4% This cognac has a dark golden color and need some time in the glass to release all aromas. I find darker notes from raisins, dried fruit, leather and wood, but also from orange. It...
Really fine - Marancheville L´Exemplaire No. 4 Limited Edition Cognac
Tasted from a sample of the Advent Calendar: Beautiful golden colour. Deep fruity nose on oranges, dried mangos and fresh grounded spices - fine! On the palte clean, pure citrus fruits, dense and focused mixed with fine spices. The palate is fullbodied, the finish long. I like this deep fruity,...
Lheraud XO Charles VII Cognac
Tasted from a sample of the Advent Calendar: Deep golden-copper colour. The nose shows a lot of (slightly dirty) fruit notes, decaying flowers, toffee. On the palate really spicy, unbalanced, like a much younger cognac. The finish is medium to long sharp and spicy - not my cup of tea.
Good as gold
This is a blend of 50 year old Grande Champagne. I have tasted it many times before, and for a long time this was one of the absolute best cognac deals in Norway. Now the price has increased, so it is not such a good buy anymore. This cognac has a quite dark golden color and is a bit reserved on...
